Sneak Peak - AQC Going Green Challenge

What does Going Green mean to you? The theme for the 2020 AQC Challenge, Going Green, unleashed quilting creatives all over the world, creating absolutely spectacular quilts!

We wanted the theme for 2020 to be topical but open to different interpretations and able to be executed in both traditional designs and contemporary styles.”
Judy Newman of Expertise Events, organisers of the AQC

And we certainly achieved that, receiving powerful quilt entries that focused on the Australian bushfire crisis, the importance of recycling and renewable energy and various interpretations of mother nature, global warming and climate change…just to name a few!

The 30 finalists will be displayed at AQC and judging will be based on interpretation of theme, design and craftsmanship. First Prize will be awarded $3,500, Runner Up will receive $1,500 and the Viewer’s Choice (voted by you!) will receive $500.

Quilts: Narrow Vision by Brenda Wood, Blue-Green Algae by Linden Lancaster, Time To Go Green by Nicky Haron, Mother Nature by Karen McGregor, Nature’s Resilience by Raylene Richardson, Cherish by Julie Evans.
